Teaching

An introduction to fundamental concepts of security. Common topics include: security concepts and mechanisms; security technologies; mandatory and discretionary controls; basic cryptography and its applications; web security; network security; and system security. The course includes programming assignments and projects through which students learn how to use and implement security mechanisms.

A graduate study of information security and privacy, emphasizing both foundational principles and current research. Topics include cryptography, system, network, web, and software security, authentication and access control, and privacy. Students critically read and discuss research papers and complete a substantial project involving the design, implementation, and evaluation of a security solution.
